The first ever Chips for Trips Tournament is happening July 19th at 6:30pm in Montreal! All members of the startup community who are looking to have fun, meet new people and reconnect with old friends are welcome. Space is limited, so register right away if you’re interested.

Where: The Sparrow, 5322 St-Laurent, north of Fairmount 

When: 6:30-11:00pm Monday, July 19, 2010

What: No Limit Texas Hold’Em, tournament style

Cost for players: $25 entry free (includes pizza!) and $20 re-buys.

Prizes:  Will be awarded to the top finishers based on the number of prizes we have. Eg if we have 3 prizes the top 3 players will get to pick their prize. Prizes right now include free entry to Bitnorth (a $300 value!) and 10 free O'Reilly eBooks (a $350 value!).

Cost for dealers: Free! If you want to take part in the night’s fun but aren’t interested in playing, we ask that you volunteer as a poker dealer. No prior experience is necessary and training will be provided.

Schedule

• 6:30-7:30pm – Poker instruction and free play. Dealers will be trained, and newbies will be given a full lesson and the opportunity to play for free and get their bearings before the tournament begins.
• 7:45pm-10:30pm – Tournament begins. Blinds will up go up at regular intervals to ensure a winner is declared by 10:30pm.

Drinks and Food

The Sparrow will offer a cash bar for the entire evening. We will be ordering pizza.
